The heavenly aroma of Kaiserschmarren pancakes in your nostrils, a refreshing “Halslspritz” aperitif in your hand and the best views of the Peitlerkofel mountain on the Würzjoch pass before your eyes. These are our three reasons for stopping off here at the Halslhütte and enjoying a mountain holiday in the Plose hiking region, right in the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage site! Though in truth there are far more than just these three. At around 2,000 metres above sea level you can breathe the purest mountain air and properly recharge your batteries. Everything smells of alpine herbs and lots of different alpine flowers. It’s fresh and spicy here in the clean air zone of South Tyrol, and your airways and body will thank you for it.

Fun for the kids in the pasture grass!

The Halslhütte is the perfect meeting place for families and every kid’s favourite place! With a swing, giant zip wire, roundabout, climbing frame with slide, trampoline, and in winter, snow tubing. Fun for all the family, from the very youngest to the oldest. Family summer and winter fun at the Halsl have a lot to offer. And there’s something else... you guessed it! The biggest and best kids’ attraction there is. It’s there all around: the natural mountain environment and its many secrets and hidden places. Explore the nature in the forest, on the edge of the meadow and in the mountain stream with your little ones. But please don’t run into the meadows themselves as that is where our cows are grazing. Mountain air gives you an appetite!

Honest, local and sustainable – our kitchen, our plates, our produce. The salad, vegetables and herbs are freshly picked from our garden; the chanterelle and porcini mushrooms straight from the forest, carefully delivered in a basket to the Halsl kitchen by the boss, Martin. Meat, fruit, bread and more are purchased from our neighbouring farmers, the butcher and the baker. Occasionally a huntsman from our village of Afers will drop us off some game. Top quality straight from the source. This is how we keep the distance our food travels short and attempt to support sustainability in South Tyrol – and above all to live. Only the best ingredients make it to your plate, skilfully enriched and cleverly prepared.

Sleep yourself healthy at 1,866 metres!

That special alpine experience in summer when you look out of the window and say good night to the Peitlerkofel – nicely tucked up in your double or twin bed. You can experience nights of total silence in nature in our natural wooden rooms and in next to no time feel the benefit of the clean air zone at around 2,000 metres above sea level. Enjoy the close proximity to nature, recuperate and recharge your batteries. To make sure it works well, we offer a healthy mountaineer’s breakfast too.
